Samsung WW90T684DLH Auto Dose Detergent Problem Repair in Leicester Forest East

I recently attended a Samsung WW90T684DLH washing machine where the customer was having a problem with the auto dispensing detergent system.

The issue was that too much water was sitting on top of the dispenser drawer after the machine had filled. This excess water was then mixing with the machine gel detergent and diluting it before it had chance to be used properly.

With auto dose systems, the first thing I check is whether there is any detergent build-up, blockage, or residue stopping the drawer and dispenser system from working correctly. Over time, detergent and softener can thicken, clog small channels, or leave deposits that affect how the water flows through the drawer.

I removed and cleaned the dispenser drawer thoroughly, then stripped down the auto dispenser assembly to check for blockages and confirm it was operating correctly. No blockages or obvious faults were found. I then tested the machine again. Everything was much cleaner and the drawer itself was working as expected, but there was still too much water sitting on the dispenser area after the fill.

After further testing, the issue appeared to be more about how the remaining water was draining away from the dispenser area rather than a faulty part.

The fix in this case was nice and simple. I adjusted the machine very slightly by leaning it back by around 2 degrees. This helped the remaining water flow away from the dispenser drawer properly, instead of sitting there and diluting the detergent.

Once adjusted, the machine was tested again and the auto dispensing system was working much better, with no excess water left sitting on the drawer.

Why this matters

Auto dose washing machines are convenient, but they do rely on the detergent drawer, water channels and machine position all working together correctly. Even a small amount of standing water in the wrong place can affect how detergent is dispensed.

If your Samsung washing machine is using too much detergent, not taking detergent properly, or the auto dose gel looks watery, it may not always be an electronic fault. Sometimes the issue can be caused by a blockage, residue build-up, poor water flow, or even the angle of the machine.
