Hotpoint Aquarius 6kg Slim Washing Machine Leaking in Leicester

I recently attended a washing machine repair in Leicester for a Hotpoint Aquarius 6kg slim washing machine that was leaking from inside the appliance.

This repair was a little more unusual because of the slimline design of the machine. Slim washing machines can sometimes be more awkward to work on than standard-depth models because there is less space inside the cabinet and certain parts can be more specific to that particular version.

The customer had noticed water leaking during use, so I carried out a full inspection to trace where the leak was coming from. With washing machine leaks, the visible water is not always where the fault actually starts. Water can track along hoses, panels or internal parts before it appears underneath or at the front of the machine.

After checking the machine carefully, the problem was traced to a leaking soap dispenser assembly inside the washing machine. The leak was coming from the dispenser area rather than from the door seal, drain pump or hoses.

Because this was a slimline Hotpoint Aquarius 6kg model, the replacement dispenser part was not a standard part that could be easily sourced off the shelf. I used my appliance trade account contacts to help identify and locate the correct part, which had to be arranged as a special order for the slim washing machine version.

Once the correct dispenser part was sourced, the faulty leaking dispenser could be replaced and the machine repaired properly.

This is a good example of why accurate fault diagnosis matters. A washing machine leak can be caused by several different issues, including a blocked dispenser drawer, damaged door seal, split hose, loose connection, faulty drain pump or leaking internal dispenser housing. In this case, the fault was inside the appliance and needed the correct slimline-specific part to repair it.
